Clearwater Operations and Maintenance (Clearwater) is owned by Jim Newell. Jim has 26 years of experience in water treatment, water testing and sales and management.
Jim’s work experience helped him realize that the water utility industry is currently facing significant challenges and changes in the regulatory mandates and the cost to properly treat the water and maintain the treatment facilities. The increasing costs are a major concern to all communities and privately owned facilities.
Communities and small privately owned businesses strive to cope with these financial challenges through a variety of means, one of which is contracting with private operating companies. These partnerships allow communities to stretch tax dollars and utility fees by contracting the drinking water and wastewater plant operations with a private firm.
Clearwater was established to provide the most cost effective and efficient water/wastewater treatment operations as possible.
As Clearwater has grown and expanded its capabilities, one constant has always been the depth of expertise in all realms of water and wastewater services. Clients who turn to us for contract operations of water and wastewater facilities benefit from the added value we bring when compared with other firms because of our solid work experience and skills – from facilities planning and troubleshooting, construction, startup and operator training.
When facilities are challenged by inefficient operations or compliance issues, Clearwater’s trademark mix of engineering, science, and operations brings a 360 degree view of problems and solutions. We evaluate operations from a multitude of perspectives – from performance and infrastructure conditions, to staff skill levels and energy management. Then we identify how to maintain compliance and get the most out of a client’s facility by optimizing existing assets. Furthermore, wherever plants are in close proximity to one another, we achieve further savings for our clients as a result of the reduced travel time and economy of scale of joint purchases and vendor contracts.
The end result is that water and wastewater facilities we operate run efficiently and smoothly, as demonstrated by our 100% renewal rate at facilities past their first term.
